Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 August 2026
This policy explains what ShortWright collects, why, how long it is kept, and how to get rid of it. It applies to shortwright.com and the ShortWright application.
Who we are
ShortWright is operated by Kiran Kumar Ale, a sole proprietor based in Hyderabad, India. For anything in this policy, write to [email protected], and we will provide a postal address on request.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, and your name if you give us one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name and profile picture from Google.
- Content you create — the subjects, scripts, settings and generated videos in your account.
- Connected platform data — see the next section.
- Billing details — handled by our payment processor. We store a customer reference, your plan and your invoice history. We never see or store your card number.
- Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and error reports. Used to keep the service working and secure.
Connected platform accounts
ShortWright can publish to your YouTube, Instagram and Facebook accounts. You connect each one yourself, and you can disconnect any of them at any time from your account settings.
YouTube
ShortWright uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube account you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
We request only the permissions needed to upload videos and manage the videos we uploaded. We store the access and refresh tokens Google issues, encrypted at rest, along with your channel id and title.
You can revoke ShortWright's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Doing so stops all future publishing immediately. We delete the stored tokens when you disconnect the account in ShortWright, or within 30 days of revocation.
We do not use YouTube data to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.
Instagram and Facebook
Publishing to Instagram Reels uses the Instagram Graph API, which requires a linked Instagram Professional account. Publishing to Facebook Reels uses the Facebook Graph API and a Facebook Page you administer. For each, we store the access token, the account or Page id, and the username or Page name.
Meta's own handling of your data is described in the Meta Privacy Policy. You can remove ShortWright's access at any time from your Facebook or Instagram app settings, and we delete the stored tokens when you disconnect the account in ShortWright or within 30 days of revocation.
How we use what we collect
- To generate the videos you ask for and store them in your account.
- To publish to the platforms you connect, when you tell us to.
- To take payment and meter your usage.
- To email you about your account, your renders and service problems.
- To detect abuse, debug failures and keep the service up.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it for advertising. We do not use your content to train AI models, and our providers are instructed not to either.
Who processes your data
ShortWright is built on third-party services which process data on our behalf under contract. The current list is available on request and includes providers of hosting, databases, object storage, email delivery, payment processing, error monitoring, and AI model inference for text, speech, images and video. Prompts and the media generated from them are sent to those AI providers to produce your video.
Some of these providers operate outside your country. Where data leaves India, it is transferred under Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
The content you generate
Your videos and scripts belong to you. We store them so you can retrieve them, and we access them only to run the service, to respond to a support request from you, or where we are legally required to.
We do review content that is reported to us or automatically flagged, to enforce our Terms.
How long we keep things
- Account data — while your account is open, then 30 days after you close it.
- Generated videos and projects — while your account is open, then 30 days.
- Platform access tokens — until you disconnect the account, then deleted.
- Invoices and payment records — as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically 8 years, as India requires for books of account.
- Logs and error reports — 90 days.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual videos at any time from your account. To delete your entire account and everything in it, use the delete control in account settings, or email [email protected] from your registered address. We complete deletion within 30 days and confirm it by email. Backups are purged on their own rolling 30-day cycle.
Deleting your ShortWright account does not delete videos already published to YouTube, Instagram or Facebook. Those live on those platforms and only you can remove them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, take it elsewhere in a portable format, and complain to your data protection authority. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Platform access tokens are encrypted with a separate key. Access to production systems is limited to people who need it and is logged. No system is perfect; if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the relevant regulator within the time the law requires.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure. We use privacy-respecting product analytics to understand which features are used. We do not run advertising cookies and we do not allow third-party ad tracking.
Children
ShortWright is not for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will email you before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
